I would like to emphasize point 3, Cook from scratch. My girlfriend and I spend a little time every Sunday cooking larger amounts of healthy food that freezes and keeps well, so that we can portion it out and have lunches all ready to go during our work weeks. It takes no time at all to pull something out of the freezer in the morning, your portion is already decided for you, you cooked it, so you know it is good chicken, low-fat this, reduced-sodium that. This is a very very good way to reduce self-sabotage, no need to run out to fast food anymore. Great post!

I think education is the answer. We need to education more people on healthy living and not just weight loss. The two go together and when we focus on weight loss superficially we cause some people to have unhealthy obsession with there image.

If you're a "normal" person and not an athlete at mentioned in the post, you should start getting a bit concerned if you're starting to move close to the lower or upper parts of the ideal weight scale.

It is increasing found that viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites are associated (linked) to chronic diseases like obesity.

It may well turn out that such microbes are a fundamental cause of many cases of obesity.

See here for a list of microbes linked to obesity: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_human_diseases_associated_with_infectious_pathogens

29.5% of Maltese children aged between 11 and 15 are overweight or obese. The EU average is only 13.3%, and whilst Greece is behind us in second place, they only hit 17.7%.
When it comes to adults, we’re not far from the pole position either. We rank 3rd out of all the EU countries, with 22.3% of Maltese adults being overweight or obese, when the EU average is 15.5%. (Health at a glance report, 2010)

Great info! Thanks. Achieving fast and permanent results is most important to me and I finally have. In my experience drinking alot of water is the key. I have tried almost every diet program out there and trust me: they don't work! .. and if they do, its just temporary .... I did finf one program outthere that is very quick, easy and effective. Check out my blog so I can tell you all about it.
